What data passes through this site, why, and how to ask to see it or delete it.
Who is responsible
The data controller is Ciro Simone Irmici, the private individual who runs this site. For any request about your data, write to [email protected].
The numbers you type
The calculations run in your browser. The numbers you type aren’t sent to any server, and I never see them.
If you copy a calculator’s link, the numbers travel in the link, after the # sign. Your browser doesn’t send that part to the server, but anyone you share the link with can see it.
What stays in your browser
The site keeps in your browser’s storage only what the features you use need: checklist checkmarks, light or dark mode, large text, currency and units. It stays on your device, I don’t receive it, and you can clear it in your browser settings. More on the cookies page.
When you visit a page
This site is hosted by Cloudflare. As with any website, its servers receive the technical details of each request, such as your IP address, browser, the page and the time, and use them to deliver the pages and protect them from attacks, on the basis of the legitimate interest in running the site and keeping it secure. I don’t use this data to find out who you are.
Anonymous statistics
To understand which pages help most, I count visits and actions anonymously (for example a calculator used or a PDF downloaded) with a tool of my own that runs on the same Cloudflare as the site. I use no cookies and don’t store your IP address: from IP and browser I compute a code that changes every day and can’t be traced back to anyone. I keep only what happens (page, action, time), the country, the type of device and the site you came from, and I don’t share them with anyone. The numbers you type into calculators are never part of it.
If you write to me
If you email me, your address and your message arrive in my mailbox (Gmail, run by Google). I use them only to reply to you, at your request. I keep messages for as long as the conversation needs and delete them no later than 24 months after our last exchange, unless the law requires me to keep them.
Writing to me is optional. If you don’t, I receive no personal data from you.
Where the data goes
Cloudflare and Google are US companies. When data goes to the US, it’s covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (which the European Commission found adequate on July 10, 2023) and by its UK Extension. Both companies take part in it.
What isn’t here
No sign-up, no forms, no ads, and no third-party buttons or services inside the pages. Fonts and images are hosted on this site. Links to sources and stores lead to other sites, which have their own privacy rules.
I don’t sell or share personal information, I don’t profile anyone, and no decision about you is made automatically.
If I ever add ads, I’ll say so here first, and ask for your consent where it’s needed.
Your rights
You can ask to see your data, get a copy, correct it, delete it, restrict its use or object to its use, by writing to [email protected]. I’ll answer within a month. In the EU and the UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the ICO).
